The drive from Mission Beach will lead you down I-5 South towards downtown San Diego, which should only take about 15 minutes. A bus leaves every 15 minutes from the beach and will get you to the downtown area in around 40 minutes.
Mission Beach is 8.4 miles from Balboa Park, and the drive should take about 13 minutes if you take I-5 South from Mission Beach. Public transportation is also available and all the bus rides combined should take about an hour.
The zoo is 9.5 miles from Mission Beach. Driving via I-5 South should take about 15 minutes, while a bus route to the zoo will take you about an hour.
Mission Beach is located 32.3 miles from Legoland. You’ll take I-5 North and the entire drive should take you less than 40 minutes. You could take public transportation, which would involve two or three different busses (depending on the route you take) and would take anywhere between 2 and 3 hours.
Mission Beach is 94.2 miles from Disneyland, which is about an hour and a half drive. It’s almost a straight shot up I-5 North. If you’d rather not drive yourself, there are a few options for public transportation, though they involve multiple busses and some short walks between bus stops.
One of the best theme parks in the area, Knotts Berry Farm is 99.9 miles from Mission Beach. The drive will take you about an hour and 45 minutes on CA-91 West and I-5 North. A few bus routes do go between the Knotts Berry Farm and Mission Beach, but the entire trip would take you almost 5 hours.
Located 154 miles away from Mission Beach, Six Flags will take you about 3 hours to get to without traffic. You can get to this popular theme park from the beach by hopping on I-5 North. A bus trip between the two places will take around 6 hours total.
